No one loved to laugh more than Michael. Be it Red Foxx, Rodney Dangerfield, Oscar Levant. Johnathan Winter, Lenny Bruce, they were all a joy to him. In the written form Bruce Jay Friedman, Patrick Dennis, Mark Twain, Evelyn Waugh, Kingsly Amos, Thurber,
Terry Southern and many more. What stuff really makes you laugh out loud? Be it stand up, a TV show, or a book? Humor was so much a part of Michael.

Hello Allen, I was fortunate to see your brother several times at a club in Boulder in the early 70s. At one of the engagements, an unknown comedian named Steve Martin opened for Mike. Mike and a Boulder nymphette were sitting directly behind me during Martin's first set. Mike was just roaring with laughter. When Mike got up to do his set, the first thing that he said, while strapping on the Les Paul, was "The most fun of this gig is having Steve Martin open for me." He then proceeded to blow us away with a killer set. Thanks for the great site and blog! - John Ivey

Man that's right on the money. I can just imagine Michael roaring, fully enjoying Steve Martin.It is amazing to look back and see young ambitious talent beginning to flower.
